Exercise Science in Kinesiology

The mission of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science is to prepare students for thoughtful and informed careers in health and physical education, exercise and health sciences, and community health science education. During their tenure at Concordia, students are encouraged to participate in the student-led kinesiology organization- Concordia Health Alliance for Majors in Physical Education and Kinesiology (CHAMP) and to join industry professional organizations such as the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

This degree completion program has been designed for those students who complete the assigned program courses as well as the following supplementary courses:

  • Intro to Kinesiology (1 credit)
  • Biomechanics (3 credits)
  • Applied Exercise Prescription (3 credits)
Students must complete 10 additional credits through the courses of their choosing of the options below:

  • Applied Nutrition (3 credits)
  • Injury Prevention and Safety (4 credits)
  • Sport Psychology (3 credits)
  • Human A & P I (5 credits)
  • Human A & P II (5 credits)
