Katie LaViolette had one of her finest all-around weekend performances yet, averaging 15.5 points, 9.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 steals per game to keep the fifth-ranked Golden Bears undefeated at 14-0. She played in 77 of 80 possible minutes and shot 50.5% (11-22) from the field and 88.9% (8-9) at the free throw line. In their win at Northern State, LaViolette led Concordia with 17 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals playing all 40 minutes in Concordia’s closest game of the year, a 60-56 win where she was 6-7 at the foul line. On Saturday at the University of Mary, she had her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 assists, registering 12 points and nine assists in the first half to lead the Golden Bears to a dominant 47-26 halftime margin. She continued her all-around play, finishing the game with six rebounds and six steals, shooting 6-10 from the field. Her 19 assists on the weekend leave her five shy of Deb Harms’ (1983-87) career assist record of 643. She already has the Division II-era career assist record set last year when she dished out a single-season record 297 assists.
