Jake Schmidt tied his career-high with 12 strikeouts in a complete game win over Bemidji State. In the first game of the doubleheader, a 20-3 win, he scattered eight Beaver hits and walked two, allowing three earned runs. He threw only 28 balls in 105 pitches in the process. Schmidt improved to 4-0 on the season and has registered 12, 11 and 12 strikeouts in his last three starts (35 strikeouts in 21 innings). He has struck out 39 batters in 28 innings on the season with a 3.21 ERA with opponents hitting just .198 against him.

With his two NSIC Pitcher of the Week selections, Schmidt's honor is the third player of the week award for Concordia this year, joining senior Joe Abellera, who earned NSIC Player of the Week honors on March 4.
