May. 08– Concordia sophomore Abby Brudidge (Neekoosa, WI) was named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Team voted on by the coaches and announced today.  She was selected as the top utility/non-pitcher in the North Central Region.

Brundidge led the Golden Bears in hitting percentage (.388), hits (59), doubles (15), RBI (37), total bases (88) and slugging percentage (.579). She finished in the top five in the NSIC in hitting percentage, slugging percentage and doubles.

On the year, Brundidge hit safely in 35 of the 44 games she played in, with 17 multi-hit games.  She was 4-5 against Missouri Southern (3-22) with a double and RBI.  She also had three hits in a game on three seperate occasions and was named NSIC Player of the Week on April 7th.  During one stretch, Brundidge had a 17 game hitting streak and hits in 22 of 23 games.

She is just the fourth Golden Bear to earn the honor, joining Alicia Nortrom, Kristen Schmidt (twice) and Amanda Yurek.

Also on the first team from the NSIC are Amanda Johnson and Erin Dickhausen from Southwest Minnesota State and on the second team, Chelsea Rosenow from Winona State.
