May. 08– Concordia sophomore Abby Brudidge (Neekoosa, WI) added another award to her season resume as she was named to the Daktonics All-North Central Region first team at the designated player position. The All-Region team is voted on by the Sports Information Directors from the North Central Region of Division II. Out of 29 potential voters, 25 cast ballots.

Brundidge has already been named 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II all-region first team and NSIC first team as voted on by the coaches.

She led the Golden Bears in hitting percentage (.388), hits (59), doubles (15), RBI (37), total bases (88) and slugging percentage (.579). Brundidge finished in the top five in the NSIC in hitting percentage, slugging percentage and doubles.

On the year, Brundidge hit safely in 35 of the 44 games she played in, with 17 multi-hit games.  She was 4-5 against Missouri Southern (3-22) with a double and RBI.  She also had three hits in a game on three seperate occasions and was named NSIC Player of the Week on April 7th.  During one stretch, Brundidge had a 17 game hitting streak and hits in 22 of 23 games.

She is just the second Golden Bear to earn the honor, along with Amanda Yurek in 2007.

The first team selections will advance to the Daktronics Division II SIDs All-America Team ballot.
