May. 11– The Concordia men's team is in fifth place with 16 points, while the women are in sixth with two points after the first day of the NSIC Championships on a rainy day in Moorhead.
Tre Sayles cleared 6-1 1/2 to take second place and earn all-NSIC honors in the high jump. He also finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 21-11 1/2.
The men's 4 X 800 team of Matt Eicheldinger, Kristofor Enlund, Alan Stage and Paul James set a new school record with a time of 8:10.56 to finish fourth and earn four points for the Bears.
The top two individuals earn all-conference honors, with the third place individual earning all-NSIC honorable mention. The top six places score points for their team (10,8,6,4,2,1).
