Concordia athletic director Tom Rubbelke has announced the atheltic department will add men’s golf for the 2005-06 season. Current women’s golf coach Matt Higgins will coach the team during it’s first season.

“We are excited to add men’t golf to the Concordia athletic department,” said Rubbelke. “It gives more opportunities to the students on campus to compete. We will compete at a high level in the NSIC.”

The men’s golf team will compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with Concordia University’s 14 other sports programs. They will be eligible for post-season play immediately.

The NSIC conference championships are played in the fall for golf, while the NCAA championships are held in the spring.
