May. 12– The Concordia track team finished competition at the first day of the NSIC Outdoor Championships Friday in Wayne, NE. The men currently sit in fifth place with 16 points, while the women have five points. Winona State women lead the six-team field with 69 points, while the Northern State men have 74.5 points to lead five teams.
Tre Sayles finished second in the high jump with a height of 6-4 and the men's 4X800 relay team of Matt Eicheldinger, Alan Stage, Austin Hoffmand and Kyle Warren finished third in a time of 8:24.15. On the women's end Sarah Deutsch finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 17-3 1/4 and sixth in the javelin (91-9) and high jump (5-0 1/4).
The Bears will compete in day two on Saturday in Wayne, Neb.
