May. 13– The Concordia University men's and women's track & field teams finished out their seasons at the 2006 NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in Wayne, Neb. The men finished with 58 points to finish fifth out of five teams while the women scored 43 points to finish in sixth of six. The Golden Bears placed five men and one woman on the NSIC All-Conference team.
On the men's side, the Bears captured one event championship in the 4x400 meter relay as Matt Eicheldinger, Adrian Perryman, Alan Stage and Kyle Warren finished the event in 3:20.59. All four runners earn all-conference honors as the event winners.
Also receiving all-conference recognition for Concordia is Tre Sayles who took second in the high jump, clearing 6-4.
Warren had a pair of individual second place finishes as well in the 800 meter with a time of 1:57.60 and the 1500 meter in a time of 4:15.04.
Other notable finishes were Perryman who took third in the 200 meter dash (22.45) and fourth in the 100 meter dash (10.8), Eicheldinger who finished the 400 meter dash in a time of 50.23 to earn fourth place and the Bears took third in the 4x800 meter relay led by Eicheldinger, Stage, Austin Hoffman and Warren.
On the women's side, Amanda Mueller took home all-conference honors as she won the 1500 meter run in a time of 5:00.70. She also finished third in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:25.02, just a hair ahead of teammate Kaitlin Hartnett who came in fourth at 2:25.05.
Other notable finishes on the women's side were LaTwanna Rudolph taking third in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.79 and Sarah Deutsch taking third in the triple jump with a school-record leap of 35-6 1/2, bettering her own school-record by eight inches.
