Coach Jahnke enters his third season as an Assistant Coach at Concordia University St. Paul. Todd works extensively with the defensive aspects of the game, primarily with the catchers and infielders. Over the past two seasons, Jahnke served as Coach McKenzie’s Graduate Assistant and will return for the 2008 campaign.
In addition to his work at Concordia, Todd is the Head Coach for the Hopkins American Legion team in the summertime where he has compiled a 59-21-1 (.728) record in his two seasons at the helm. Prior to his work for Hopkins Legion, Coach Jahnke served on the Excelsior American Legion staff and also has coached in the Hopkins Mickey Mantle program. Additionally, Todd has been a Clinician at Lunch McKenzie’s Baseball USA for the past five years, specializing in hitting and catching instruction.
Coach Jahnke comes to CU from Saint John’s University where he was an All-Conference Selection as a Catcher and Infielder in the MIAC and was named Freshman of the year in 2000 for SJU under Head Coach and “Dean of the MIAC,” Jerry Haugen. Prior to playing collegiately, he was twice named All-Conference as a shortstop and catcher at Hopkins High School. Todd was also the recipient of the Kent Hrbek Award in High School, given to the American Legion South Hennepin League’s Most Valuable Player. Following his collegiate career, Todd played for the Hopkins Berries of the Class A Amateur Minnesota Riverview League.
Todd has his Undergraduate degree in Business Management from Saint John’s University and recently completed his Master’s Degree at Concordia St. Paul University in Organizational Management. He lives in Minnetonka with his fiancé Carrie Gorecki.
