May. 13 – The Concordia baseball team (27-14), winners of the NSIC's automatic bid, will be the #6 seed in the NCAA Central Region Tournament and will open play against the top-seed and host team #5 Emporia State (48-8), May 15 at 7:00 p.m. on Glennen Field at the Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia, Kan. May. 12 – Concordia athletic director Tom Rubbelke has announced that he has accepted the resignation of assistant athletic director Lisa Raitz, effective June 27. Raitz has been a member of the athletic staff for seven years and at Concordia for nine.

May. 11 – The Concordia University baseball team (27-14) won their second NSIC Tournament title and first since 2003, defeating host and top seed, #15 Wayne State (40-11) 10-6 on Sunday afternoon in the championship game in Wayne, Neb. The Golden Bears earn the NSIC automatic qualifier to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament May 15-18. Official pairings and site will be released by the NCAA Sunday evening. BOX SCORE

May. 10 – Junior Kawaskii Bacon (Minneapolis, MN) defended his NSIC titles in the 100m (10.85) and 200m (21.85) dashes Saturday afternoon in Wayne, Neb., as the Golden Bears finished their 2008 outdoor season. As a team the men finished fifth of six with 61.50 points, while the women finished seventh of seven with 28 points.

May. 09 – Day one of the 2008 NSIC Outdoor Championships concluded late Friday night in Wayne, Neb. When the day was done, the Goldens women are in fifth with 20 points, while the men are sixth with 21.50 points. Tre Sayles (Jr., Woodbury, MN) and Katie Johnson (So., Ramsey, MN) each became NSIC champions on day one.

May. 09 – Concordia seniors Joe Abellera and Jake Waldman, both Minnetonka, Minn. natives, hit back-to-back home runs in a four run first inning as the Golden Bears (26-14) cruised to an 8-2 victory over Bemidji State (16-25-1) on Friday afternoon in the NSIC Tournament in Wayne, Neb. BOX SCORE

May. 08 – Concordia sophomore Abby Brudidge (Neekoosa, WI) added another award to her season resume as she was named to the Daktonics All-North Central Region first team at the designated player position. The All-Region team is voted on by the Sports Information Directors from the North Central Region of Division II.

May. 08 – Junior Brenden Furrow's (Johnston, Iowa) steal of home plate scored the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning for Concordia University (25-14), who defeated Southwest Minnesota State (24-19) 2-1 on Thursday afternoon in the first round of the NSIC Tournament held in Wayne, Neb. May. 08 – Concordia sophomore Anna Bjorlin (Hermantown, MN) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District third team. The district, which consists of NCAA II, NCAA III, and NAIA school from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana, was voted on by sports information directors from schools within the district.

May. 08 – Concordia University head women's basketball coach Paul Fessler has announced that Kelly Supernaw of Delavan, Wis. has signed a National Letter of Intent while Shandrell Duncan has decided to transfer to CU from NCAA Division I IUPUI (Indiana Univ. Purdue Univ. at Indianapolis).

May. 08 – Concordia sophomore Abby Brudidge (Neekoosa, WI) was named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Team voted on by the coaches and announced today. She was selected as the top utility/non-pitcher in the North Central Region.

May. 08 – The Concordia University baseball team landed five players on the 2008 NSIC Baseball All-Conference Team, as voted on by league coaches. Senior Joe Abellera (Minnetonka, Minn.) was named the 2008 NSIC Newcomer of the Year, as well while the Golden Bears were also represented by one all-NSIC second team selection.

May. 06 – Concordia's Tre Sayles (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) broke his own school record in the high jump, clearing 6-8 3/4 to post a NCAA provisional qualifying standard at the Meet of the UnSaintly on the campus of Hamline University. Sayles won the high jump, finished second in the triple jump (45-11 1/4) and third in the long jump (21-11 3/4).

May. 06 – Forest Lake senior Jeremy Tetrault has signed a National Letter of Intent announced today by Concordia men's golf coach Matt Higgins. Tetrault is the third golfer to commit for 2008, joining Aron Duren and Joe Koyiol.
