Sayles Named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week

Concordia's Tre Sayles (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) broke his own school record in the high jump, clearing 6-8 3/4 to post a NCAA provisional qualifying standard at the Meet of the UnSaintly on the campus of Hamline University. Sayles won the high jump, finished second in the triple jump (45-11 1/4) and third in the long jump (21-11 3/4).

Junior Tre Sayles (Woodbury, MN) broke his own school record in the high jump, clearing 6-8 3/4 to post a NCAA provisional qualifying standard at the Meet of the UnSaintly on the campus of Hamline University. Sophomore Katie Johnson also broke Adejoke Adedeji's 2004 school record (25.70) in the 200m dash, crossing the line in a time of 25.57.

CU Men Post Eight Top Ten Finishes at Howard Wood Relays

The Concordia men competed in their last meet before the NSIC tournament next weekend Saturday at the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls, SD. They posted eight top ten finishes in 11 performances. Sophomore John Pimental (Ripon, WI) won the long jump with a leap of 22-4 1/4.

Women Take Part in Tommie Twilight

The Concordia women's track team competed in their last meet before the NSIC Championships next week when they travelled down the street to compete at the Tommie Twilight meet on the campus of St. Thomas in St. Paul. Sophomore Katie Johnson (Ramsey, MN) led the Golden Bears with a second place finish in the 400m (58.97) and the triple jump (36-4 1/4). The team posted four top ten finishes on the night.

Jordan Johnson to Run at Concordia

Jordan Johnson from Tartan High School in Oakdale, MN, has signed a letter of intent to join the Concordia track team. Johnson will graduate in 2008 and join the Golden Bears in the fall.

Polley Finishes Eighth at NSIC Decathlon

Freshman Mickey Polley (Shafter, CA) finished eighth with a score of 4753 in the NSIC decathlon held Monday and Tuesday on the campus of Northern State in Aberdeen, SD. Bemidji State's Zac Preble won the event with a score of 6669.

Men Take Part in Prestigious Drake Relays

The Concordia men's track team sent four relay teams to the prestigious Drake Relays held in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday and Saturday. The Golden Bears competed in the 4 X 100, 4 X 200 and 4 X 400 and sprint medley relays.

Concordia Men Run at Macalester Twilight Meet

For the second time in less than a week, Concordia junior Tre Sayles (Woodbury, MN) tied his school record in the high jump with a height of 6-8 at the Bolstorff Twilight Meet on the campus of Macalester College. He won the high jump with the jump. Sophomore John Pimental (Ripon, WI) also earned a win at the meet, winning the long jump with a leap of 22-11 3/4.

Bacon Runs At Mt. Sac Relays

Junior Kawaskii Bacon (Minneapolis, MN) competed in the 100 and 200 meter dashes on the second day of the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, CA on Sunday afternoon. Bacon finished fifth in the 200m race in a time of 21.78 and sixth in the 100m crossing the line in 10.87.

Johnson, Sayles Compete in California

Sophomore Katie Johnson and junior Tre Salyes (Woodbury, MN) competed Saturday at the Beach Invitational at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California. Johnson competed in three events and broke her own school record in the triple jump with a jump of 37-5, to finish 10th of 21 competitors.
