National Lutheran Schools Week

by Michele Pickel

March 7-13th is National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW). Due to Spring Break, we are celebrating this week (a week early) at Concordia. This is a week to celebrate and encourage children, families, and teachers working and growing in our Lutheran schools. The theme this year is "Securing each Child's Future for a Life of Service."

Lutheran schools are important partners with Concordia University. All students in the Lutheran classroom teacher program complete one or more student teaching experiences in a Lutheran school and many other education majors complete numerous hours of observation and teaching in them. CSP faculty frequently support area Lutheran schools through workshops and consultation.

As a part of NLSW, Concordia University will be hosting students from area Lutheran schools on Tuesday, March 9th. The children and many CSP alum who teach in those schools, will experience fellowship and fun workshops around campus. If you are around campus during that time, feel free to stop by Ganglehoff to welcome the kids!
