Staff
Infant Staff
Jodi Beaulieu has been an Infant Co-Teacher since October of 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota in Therapeutic Recreation. Before working at Hand in Hand, she has worked with adults with disabilities. She attended Concordia University to receive her Pre-Kindergarten to sixth grade license. Jodi has three children and lives in St. Paul.
Sonia Jenny has been an Infant Co-Teacher since November of 2003. Born and raised in El Salvador, Sonia moved to the United States in 1991. She has been working in the Early Childhood arena for over 10 years and has her Child Development Associates Degree. Sonia taught in New York before moving to Minnesota. She is married with two children and lives in Woodbury.
Toddler Staff
Sarah Barron has been with Hand in Hand since June of 2005. Her first position was that of floating substitute and since August of 2006 she has been the Co-Toddler teacher. Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia University in Elementary Education with a minor in Lutheran Confessionalism. Sarah is married and lives in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Kirsten Herkenhoff has been with Hand in Hand since 1999. Her first position at Hand in Hand was that of Infant Teacher. She has been teaching Toddlers here since 2001. Kirsten received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Early Childhood Special Education from Saint Katherine's University. She is married with two children and lives in Saint Louis Park.
Preschool Staff
Lacey Wellens has had many jobs at Hand in Hand. Her first job in 1986 was Toddler Teacher then Director and finally Co-Preschool Teacher. Lacey received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood minor from Concordia University. She also received her Masters of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Concordia. She is married with two children and lives in Richfield.
Melissa Drake has been with Hand in Hand since November of 2003. Originally hired to be the Floating Substitute, Melissa has been the Co-Preschool Teacher since May of 2005. Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in Family Consumer Education with a minor in Sociology and Human Development. She will be graduating from Concorida University with her Masters of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education in May of 2008. Melissa is married and lives in Richfield.
Floating Substitute
Jeanne Ronchak began working at Hand in Hand full-time in the Spring of 2006 as the Floating Substitute. Prior to that Jeanne was one of Hand in Hand's student work force while earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a minor in English at Concordia. Jeanne lives in Falcon Heights.
Director
Kris Spiess has been with Hand in Hand since June of 1985. She spent the first thirteen years as the Infant Teacher before assuming the Directorship. Kris received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education and Coaching from Concordia University. She also received her Masters of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Concordia. Kris is married with one son and lives in Saint Paul.
