Math Assessment
Welcome to the Math Assessment Website for Concordia University, St. Paul.
The mission statement of the Department of the Mathematics states the department "contributes to the Concordia community by encouraging recognition and understanding of math in the world around them." To do that, we employ a Math Assessment to help accurately gauge what math class a student should start with so they can be successful at the university.
The thirty-minute math assessment is usually given on the day of your New Student Orientation. The assessment consists of 24 multiple choice questions evaluating math skills from the list of provided topics to be answered without the aid of a calculator. The assessment will be scored immediately and used in conjunction with your transcripts and ACT scores to help the math department decide your eligibility to register for the required math courses.
Below you will find links to the Math Assessment topics list, practice questions, and the solutions to the practice questions. If you do not do well on the exam, we do offer a retake opportunity. Please let us know how we can help you be successful in the math requirements at Concordia University, St. Paul.
