Career Connections

Do you need help choosing a major? Would you like to know how your degree can improve your chances of promotion, career search and transition efforts? Or, are you undecided about your career/academic direction?

Whether you're a freshman choosing a major or an adult student in a degree completion program seeking employment advancement, you can discover how to develop the career/life skills essential for personal and professional success.

Concordia's Career Connections is an integrated approach to career development/management, which includes self-exploration, value-centered and ethical career decision making, experiential education, and employer/peer resource networking.  Students participating in Career Connections events and classes can get a "real world perspective" through mentoring, job shadowing, and interviewing adult and graduate students, and alumni who are already in professional positions and field you seek.

Career Connections programming is not a job placement, posting or recruiting service. It is an opportunity for students to earn college semester credit while gaining job insight, advice, experience and sharpening skills.

Come find out how you can benefit!

Participants can earn two credits while learning about transferable skills from the classroom to the workplace.
Other topics include:

  • What to expect from a mentoring experience?
  • What is your personality type?
  • Discover your potential; discover your learning style.
  • Successful networking skills.
  • Transitioning from graduation to work .
  • Choosing a major.
  • Strategies for job search success
  • Strategies for marketing yourself
  • Resume writing/Interviewing and more.....
