Advertise with The Sword
The Sword is published twice monthly from August to May. Frequency rates are available. Display ads are available in all issues. Rates for display advertising can be found here.
Advertising Requirements:
- Terms: net due upon receipt of invoice.
- Preferred payment is by check, made out to Concordia University, St. Paul.
- Rates assume camera-ready copy.
- First-time advertisers must submit payment with order.
- Once a contract is signed for multiple insertions, the rate is guaranteed for the duration of the contract.
- Should a client fail to purchase the number of displays agreed upon in order to secure a frequency discount, the client will be billed retroactively at the higher rate, based on the number of ads actually placed.
- Only grayscale ads available.
- Electronic copy (via email attachment) is preferred.
- Graphics should be in TIF format; photo files should be in JPEG format.
- There is a 10% surcharge for guaranteed display ad location on a specific page, subject to availability.
- The front and back pages are not available for display advertising.
Advertising Information
Mechanical Requirements:
The Sword is a student-produced, tabloid format newspaper. Preferred format for ads is electronic; graphics in TIF format, and photo files in JPEG format. To discuss ad sizes, placement, speculation requirements, or pricing, please contact The Sword Advertising Manager (see contact information below).
Deadlines:
Please have all advertisements to The Sword Advertising Manager (see contact information below) two weeks prior to the publication date. For publication dates, please see The Sword Publication Schedule.
Distribution:
The Sword is available to all Concordia University students, faculty, and staff with an average distribution of 700 copies. Most readers are undergraduate students, both traditional and non-traditional.
