Academic Honors

Undergraduate Students
Honor medallions are awarded to those earning Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude.  Students graduating with distinction or high distinction will receive pins indicating their level of achievement. 

Honors for the May 2012 Commencement program will based on your cumulative grade point average as of January 31, 2012. 

Undergraduate students who have earned 64 or more credits at Concordia and have earned the following Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) are eligible to receive the honor medallion: 

  • 3.90 or higher are designated as graduating summa cum laude
  • 3.75 to 3.89 are designated as graduating magna cum laude 
  • 3.60 to 3.74 are designated as graduating cum laude

Undergraduate students who have earned 63 or fewer credits at Concordia and have earned the following Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) are eligible to receive a pin for their achievement:

  • 3.90 or higher will be recognized as graduating with high distinction
  • 3.75 to 3.89 will be recognized as graduating with distinction  

Graduate Students

Students receiving a Master of Arts or Business Administration degree do not have honors designations.   For those who have maintained a 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average, they will receive a medallion that signifies their achievement and reflects the degree earned. (For example, Business Administration, Christian Outreach, etc..)

Distribution

Medallions and pins for all qualifying students will be distributed at the One-Stop Grad-Shop event. If distance prohibits you from attending the One-Stop Grad-Shop, please submit an on-line cap & gown order form . If you submit your order on-line, your medallion or pin will be mailed along with your attire.

NOTE: We will be unable to distribute/exchange any medallion or pin on commencement day.

Online, In-Class or Blended?

Offered Online?
Classes meet entirely online.

Offered In-Class?
Classes meet face-to-face at our St. Paul campus or other off-campus location.

Offered Blended?
Course work is completed through a combination of in-class and online class meetings.
