Additionally, the Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training program preapares students for positions in other settings such as fitness/wellness centers, personal training, coaching, rehabilitation sciences, health and wellness education. The degree also serves as preparation for post-baccalaureate study in areas such as human growth, aging, athletic training, biomechanics, chiropractics, exercise physiology, sports management, sport psychology and more.
In this program, students learn athletic training theory and have numerous opportunities to bridge theory into practical athletic training applications.
Students can participate in conferences, workshops, seminars and clinics locally and nationally. Students can also participate in the Concordia Health Alliance for Majors in Physical Education & Kinesiology (CHAMP) club by attending professional conferences, sponsoring club events and by participating in service-learning opportunities.
Concordia’s convenient location gives students access to athletic training internships with a variety of local organizations, such as area high schools and even NCAA Division II athletic programs.
