Why Study Church Vocation & Ministry at CSP?

The Department of Religion and Theology offers a number of opportunities to prospective students:

Major

  • Major in Theology -- provides a thorough grounding in Lutheran theology, plus the opportunity to focus studies in theological languages, theological studies, or the liberal arts.

Minors

  • Minor in Confessional Lutheranism -- theological studies for students seeking to serve in The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod
  • Minor in Biblical Languages -- aids student to develop a basic reading knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and New Testament Greek
  • Minor in Bible Translation -- introduces students to linguistic theory and the practice of Bible translation
  • Minor in Religion -- explores the intersection of the Christian faith with topics and issues of contemporary import while encouraging respectful discussion by people of diverse religious perspectives (new in 2010)
