About Kristin Bransford
Dr. Kristin Bransford is Professor of Psychology in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Chair of the General Education Committee at Concordia University. She has been a faculty member at Concordia since 1999 and teaches a variety of courses in the department including abnormal psychology, personality psychology, child psychology, adolescent psychology, social psychology, and psychology topic seminars.
Her current scholarly interests include engaged learning strategies, incorporating service learning in the classroom, and first-year student success. She recently published the book Intentional Learning at its Best: Engaged Learning Strategies in Higher Education with two colleagues. She has presented at numerous national conferences on engaged learning strategies in higher education, faculty learning communities, service learning, and first-year student success. Prior to Concordia University, Dr. Bransford worked at various agencies as a rehabilitation counselor and rehabilitation psychologist.

Dr. Kristin Bransford integrates her clinical background as a rehabilitation counselor and psychologist into the variety of psychology courses she teaches. With her emphasis on engaged learning in the classroom, she integrates service learning, action research assignments, case studies and other engaged learning strategies into her courses on abnormal psychology, personality psychology, adolescent psychology, social psychology, and psychology topic seminars.
