Jan. 12– Senior defensive tackle Eric Power was named First-Team all-Northwest Region by Don Hansen's Football Gazette for the second straight season. In 2005, Power was a Second-Team all-American by the publication.
This marks the fifth year Football Gazette has selected NCAA Division II All-Region teams. The national publication, an authority on small college football, has selected NCAA Division II All-America teams since 1998.
The first-team and second-team All-Region selections advance to a national ballot from which the 2006 NCAA Division II Football Gazette All-America team will be named later this month.
In 2006, Power was an all-NSIC first team selection, a nominee for the Gene Upshaw Award and ranked 28th in NCAA Division II in tackles for loss (1.5 per game). For the season, Power finished with 52 tackles (31 solo), 16.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and recorded a safety.
Concordia finished 5-6 overall and secured their seventh consecutive .500 or better record in the Northern Sun, finishing 4-4 in their eighth year in the league.
