Feb. 01– The Concordia men's and women's cross country teams both qualified for the Division II All-Academic Teams for the 2006 cross country season as named by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Concordia men's team had the highest cumulative GPA at 3.560 of 57 Division II men's cross country programs to have at least a 3.0 team GPA during the 2006 season, while the Concordia women's team was also 39th of the 91 other women's programs to qualify with a team GPA of 3.360.
On the men's side, the Bears were one of two teams from the NSIC to earn the academic honor. Winona State'e cross country team finished with a GPA of 3.050. Northern State (3.043), Wayne State (3.217) and Winona State (3.280) joined the Bears as the only other NSIC teams to make the women's list.
