Johnson, Bacon Post Provisional Marks at MSU Open

Feb. 02– Junior Kawaskii Bacon (Minneapolis, MN) and sophomore Katie Johnson (Ramsey, MN) both provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships and broke their own school records in events at the MSU Open.  On the day the Golden Bears posted 12 top-ten performances.

Johnson won two events on the day, winning the long jump in an NCAA provisionally qualifying jump of 18-2 1/2.  She also won the 200m run in a time of 26.10, breaking her own school record set last season of 26.11.

Bacon won the 200m run on the men's side in an NCAA provisional time of 22.11, breaking his school record of 22.19.  It is also the 8th fastest time run in Division II this season.  He also finished second in the 60m run in a time of 6.89.
