Craig Heiman continued his late season scoring surge, averaging 26.5 points and hitting nine three-pointers to lead the Golden Bears to a pair of critical victories in the final weekend of the regular season, vaulting CU to the No. 4 seed in the NSIC Tournament. In a dominant 73-54 win over Southwest Minnesota State, Heiman poured in 32 points on 12-19 shooting, hitting 5-10 from behind the arc while also adding three steals and three rebounds. The next night vs. Wayne State, he scored 21, shooting 6-13 from the field, but hitting 4-5 from three-point range and 5-6 at the line. He collected four rebounds, had two steals and two assists in the win over the Wildcats. For the weekend, Heiman shot 56.3% (18-32) from the field, 60.0% (9-15) from three-point distance and 80.0% (8-10) from the line and had five steals and seven rebounds. In the race for the NSIC scoring title, Heiman just missed Smith, finishing with 18.7 ppg to Smith’s 18.9 in 18 NSIC games, a total of difference of three points. Heiman is 12 points shy of 500 for the season.

Jonte Flowers became the NCAA Division II all-time career for steals when he recorded 10 in the Warriors’ win over the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He now had 388 for his career and ranks No. 3 all-time for all NCAA divisions. Against UMC Flowers scored 36 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. In the win over Bemidji State University Flowers had 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists 1 blocked shot and 2 steals. For the week he averaged 23 ppg, eight rebounds, six steals, and 3.5 assists.
