Apr. 01– After 6-12 inches of snow was heaped upon the Twin Cities Metro Area, Concordia University head baseball coach Mark "Lunch" McKenzie announced that this Wednesday and Thursday's home doubleheaders against Minnesota, Crookston and Minnesota Duluth have been postponed. The Golden Bears and Golden Eagles will swap their home/away games, meaning CU will travel to Crookston on Thursday for a pair of games at 2 p.m. The UMD series has been postponed indefinitely although the teams will attempt to reschedule.
Concordia was fortunate enough to open their home slate on Sunday afternoon when the Bemidji State series was moved from BSU due to a snow covered field. However, the snow came early yesterday, forcing the cancellation of the final two games of the series.
The Minnesota Duluth series, initially scheduled for March 26 at Barnes Field, was moved to this Thursday, April 3 when the field was not ready to play. However, the snow has caused a second post-ponement.
After the decision to swap home/away games with Minnesota, Crookston, Concordia will now play UMC on Thursday, April 3 at 2 p.m. in Crookston and will host the Golden Eagles on Wednesday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at Barnes Field.
All of the new schedule changes can be found by visiting the Baseball Schedule Page. Concordia is 10-6 on the season and off to a 4-2 start in Northern Sun play.
