Apr. 17– Concordia freshman Kawaskii Bacon earned NSIC Track Athlete of the Week honors after his performance at the Lee Krough Invite, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter over the weekend. Bacon won the 200m dash in a NCAA DII Outdoor Championship provisional qualifying and school record time of 21.32, while he was also a member of the 4X100 relay team that set a new school mark of 41.64.
Bacon now owns the school record in the 200 meter run in both the indoor and outdoor track seasons. It is the second time this year Bacon has been named the NSIC Track Athlete of the Week. He earned the honor during the indoor season on Jan. 23 after the Blugold Invitational.
