May. 01– Concordia University freshman women's golfer Kelly Godwin fired a 78 at the par 72, 5946 yard Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa, on the second day of the NCAA North Central Region Tournament. Rachael Schmidt of Upper Iowa leads the meet with a 148. Godwin currently sits just one stroke out of fifth, two strokes out of fourth and three strokes out of third place at the regional. Godwin's 78 came after she shot an 80 on the first day. She moved up two spots from tenth to eighth.

Godwin will hit the links for her third round of play tomorrow.

The top two teams will qualify for the NCAA Championships at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pensacola, Florida. The top two individuals who are not members of the top two teams will also qualify for the championships.
