May. 09– The Concordia University baseball team prepares to compete in the 2007 NSIC Tournament this Thursday, May 10 when they take on the host Wayne State College. The Bears earned the fourth seed in the tournament by taking three of four at Upper Iowa last weekend and enter postseason play having won 11 of their last 12. They face the top seeded Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. in Wayne, Neb. Earlier this season, the Wildcats swept the Bears in a four game series in Wayne.

Concordia's strong finish, which began on the heels of the four losses at WSC, propelled them to a 29-11 overall record, tying their school record 29 wins for the third straight year. They finished a strong 15-7 in Northern Sun play.

The tournament also features the second seed, Winona State and the third seed, SW Minnesota State. WSU and SMSU open the tournament at noon on Thursday. For more information on the NSIC Tournament, visit www.northernsun.org
