May. 15– Concordia men's golf coach Matt Higgins has announced that Garret Larson has committed to play for the Golden Bears in 2007-08.  Larson, a senior at Tartan High School, is a five-time letterwinner in golf for the Titans.

Larson owns the school record with a 71 at the Wisconsin Dells Invite and holds a handicap of 2.  He has been a medalist 15 times in his high school career and has been a three-time MVP and all-conference selection.

In addition to golf, Larson has earned three letters in hockey, one in cross country and four for academics.  He earned all-conference honors in hockey and was named the 2007 Hobey Baker Character Award winner.

He will graduate in the top 10-percent of his class and has earned the Tartan High School Academic Achievement Award and the Jason Haugle Award for senior leadership.  He also volunteers with the Tartan Youth Hockey Association.
