Aug. 15– Concordia University head women's basketball coach Paul Fessler has announced that Zoraa Quoie has transferred from the University of Iowa to join the Golden Bear squad for 2007-08.
Quoie, a Woodbury, Minn. native, played in three games during her freshman season with the Hawkeyes in 2006-07. She debuted in a loss to Iowa State before scoring two points with two steals and a rebound in a win over Samford. In her third game, Quoie scored four points with two steals, a rebound and an assist in a loss to Northern Iowa.
In her career at Woodbury, Quoie was named a Miss Basketball nominee and was an all-state selection as a senior. The two-time all-conference selection holds the Woodbury High School record for single-season steals. As a senior, Quoie averaged 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 steals. She helped lead the Royals to a 71-15 record in her three years on the hardwood including a 2004 third place finish in the state tournament.
Quoie joins a Golden Bear women's basketball program that is defending NSIC regular season and tournament championships, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year while posting six consecutive 20-win seasons.
