Fessler Ranked 16th Among Active NCAA Division II Coaches in Winning Percentage
Aug. 30– Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball coach Paul Fessler is ranked 16th among active NCAA Division II coaches. The list was released by the NCAA Statistics office. In his seven years leading the Golden Bears, Fessler has amassed a .704 winning pct. going 150-63.
In his tenure, the Bears have recorded six consecutive 20-plus win seasons and have been to the NCAA Tournament five straight years, winning their first round game in each of their past four trips including an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen in the 2004-05 season. Fessler has two NSIC Regular Season Championships and two NSIC Tournament Championships. His team last year captured both titles in the same year for the first time in school history.
The highest winning pct. for Concordia-St. Paul came in the 2003-04 season when the Bears finished 28-4, going 15-1 to win the NSIC Regular Season title for the first time while earning the right to host the NCAA North Central Regional.
Fessler will begin his eighth season at Concordia in 2007-08, returning virtually his entire squad from a year ago to defend their NSIC titles.
