Behnke Tabbed Super 16 Selection by Division II Bulletin

Oct. 16Senior center Amanda Behnke (Eagan, Minn.) was named to the Women's Division II Bulletin Super 16 Selections in the Preseason Preview edition of the magazine.

The publication, which selected Behnke as an honorable mention all-American last year, picked two players from each of the eight regions for the Super 16. Joining Behnke from the North Central Region is North Dakota's Kierah Kimbrough, a junior center.

As a junior in 2006-07, Behnke set Concordia's single-season scoring record with 551 points and helped Concordia win 20 of their last 23 games to finish the season 22-10, including a 15-3 mark to capture their second NSIC Championship before helping them to their second NSIC Tournament title.

She was named the NSIC Player of the Year and led the Northern Sun in scoring with 17.2 points per game and averaged 8.2 rebounds per game. In the NCAA Tournament, Behnke closed out the season with career-highs of 30 points and 21 rebounds against Nebraska-Kearney. She had 10 double-doubles and scored 20 or more points 13 times.

Behnke enters 2007-08 with 923 career points and is 77 shy of becoming the 20th member of the 1,000 point club.
