Oct. 23– The Golden Bears men’s cross country team had its best finish in the NSIC championships finishing second among the five teams in Wayne, NE. The Bears were led by Marcus Breitbarth who finished 4th overall with a time of 27:42. The Bears had three of the top ten finishers and six of the top 20. Renato Otten finished 6th and Kyle Warren rounded out the top ten with a time of 28:33.

Evan Palenschat finished 17th while teammate Josh Stebbins was right behind him in 18th place. Aaron Stumvoll was 20th with a time of 30 minutes even. Also running for the Bears were Paul James who finished 28th, Hasean Guyo who placed 36th and Andy Jones in 40th.

The Concordia women’s runners were paced by Amanda Mueller who finished 12th at the conference meet with a time of 25:42. Jennifer Carbone was second among Bears runner, finishing in 34th place. Also competing at the conference championships were Kaitlin Hartnett who finished in 40th, Jessica Johnson who came in 44th and Haiden Kuehne who placed 52nd.
