Feb. 27– Concordia football coach Mark Mauer has announced that Conor Riley has joined the CU coaching staff. Riley, who comes from UN-Omaha, will coach the offensive line.
Riley spent three seasons on the Maverick sideline where he worked with tight ends. He spent two years as a graduate assistant coach after serving one year as a student assistant while finishing work on his degree.
Riley began his collegiate career with a U.S. Air Force Academy appointment, but later transferred to the University of Kansas before returning to his hometown to attend UNO.
After redshirting in 1999, he was twice named the outstanding offensive lineman in the North Central Conference during his three-year UNO career, from 2000-02. He earned all-region and second-team Daktronics All-American honors in 2001 and was a first-team All-American in 2002 by both Daktronics and the American Football Coaches Association. As a senior, he also earned NCC All-Academic team honors.
He joins a Concordia team that went 9-3 last season and won a share of the NSIC title and played in the Mineral Water Bowl.
