Aug. 10– The Concordia soccer team received 39 points to nab the 8th spot in the NSIC Preseason Soccer Coaches Poll. The Bears finished five points behind NSIC newcomer Upper Iowa for 7th place.
Defending conference champion Winona State nabbed the maximum with nine first place votes and 90 points with Northern State ranking 2nd in the poll with 78 points and the other first place vote. Bemidji State secured the 3rd spot with 75 points.
Winona State's Kayla Walters was named NSIC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year while Bemidji State's Kari Torgerson was named NSIC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
