Aug. 21– Concordia senior Eric Power has been named to the d2football.com Preseason Second Team All-America team. He has already been named to the 2006 Don Hansen's Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team.
Power is the only player in the Northern Sun to be selected to the team, which is comprised of 52 NCAA Division II football players.
In 2005, Power anchored a Concordia defense that ranked first in the NSIC in rushing yards allowed and total defense. He led the league with 8.0 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss while totaling 45.0 tackles on the season. He earned second team All-America by Hansen's Gazette, All-America honorable mention by CollegeSportsReport.com and first team all-region by the Gazette.
