Oct. 23– The Concordia football team, fresh off of a 41-14 victory at Upper Iowa, had a pair of players recognized by the league offices in the NSIC weekly football release as Kole Goodchild was named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and Brody Johnson was named NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Goodchild, a junior quarterback from West Bend, Iowa, accumulated 377 yards of total offense to lead the CU offense to their most dominant performance of the season with 592 total yards. Goodchild completed 17-27 for 295 yards with three TD passes and also rushed 12 times for 83 yards. His longest completion of 78 yards was broken for a TD by Eric Clinton.
B.Johnson, a senior kicker/punter from Heyburn, Idaho, scored 11 points on a perfect kicking day despite poor conditions with wind and rain in Fayette, Iowa. He was 2-2 on field goals and 5-5 on extra points. B.Johnson also punted four times for a 39.8 yard average with a net average of 37.0 with three of the four punts landing inside the 20. On kickoffs, he averaged 50.3 yards on seven attempts.
