Oct. 30– Junior quarterback Kole Goodchild was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week as he led Concordia University to their second consecutive road victory in Northern Sun action, evening their record at 3-3 in league play, 4-5 overall.
Goodchild completed 20-32 for 273 yards including the game-winning 42 yard touchdown pass to Tyrone Ruffin with 6:34 to play in the fourth quarter as the Bears defeated the Wildcats 27-24. Goodchild also rushed for 65 yards on nine attempts with a seven yard TD rush. He averaged 7.2 yards per carry and totaled 338 yards of total offense.
The highlight of the performance was leading the Bears on the game winning TD drive. On the five play, 99 yard drive that spanned 2:20 and began on their own one yard line, Goodchild accounted for 80 yards through the air on two pass attempts while adding a 16 yard run, moving the ball 96 yards on three plays for CU.
Goodchild took home Egg Bowl MVP honors for the Golden Bears in Wayne, Neb.
