Golden Bear Men and Women Achieve High Academic Standing

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Teams with Concordia University being one of the teams to achieve the honor for 2007.

Concordia Has Stong Performance At NCAA North Central Regional

The Concordia women finished 18th of 23 teams at the NCAA North Central Regional in Vermillion, SD, Saturday afternoon, marking the highest finish in school history. The Bears were the fourth highest finishing school from the NSIC. The men did not post a team score.

Wallin, Stanzyk Earn All-NSIC Honors at NSIC Championships

Concordia senior Shae Wallin and junior Emily Stanzyk earned all-NSIC honors at the 2007 NSIC Championships Saturday in Winona. Wallin finished eighth in a time of 23:31.5, while Stanzyk was tenth for the second straight year, crossing in 23:44.4.

Wallin, Schield Lead Bears at UMD Pine Hill Invite

Shae Wallin ran the eighth fastest 6K race in Concordia women's cross country history Saturday at the Pine Hill Invite in Carleton, MN. She crossed the line in 23:32.50 to finish third. Dan Schield ran a personal best of 28:03.80 over 8K to lead the men.

Bears Have Impressive Showing at Griak

The Concordia cross country team had an impressive showing at the prestigious Roy Griak Invite at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul on Saturday. Emily Stanzyk finished in 53rd of 279 runners in the DII race, crossing the line in 24:31 to lead the women to a 24th place finish of 30 teams. It was the second fastest time ever by a Concordia runner on the Griak course.

Wallin Paces Concordia at St. Olaf Invite

Shae Wallin finished 28th of 369 runners in the 6K race at St. Olaf College Saturday to lead the Concordia women to a 16th place finish of 25 competing teams. Wallin finished in a time of 23:49. Dan Schield led the men with a time of 28:07 over 8K to finish 128 of 352 runners in the men's field.

Wallin Wins St. Mary's Invitational; Women Finish Fourth

Concordia senior Shae Wallin won the 5K St. Mary's Invitational Saturday morning in Winona, MN. Wallin ran 20:39.2 over the 5K course as the women finished fourth with 92 points. The men were led by sophomore Dan Shield, who ran 23:37.0 to finish 14th.

Concordia's Kyle Warren has earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America first-team honors for track and field and cross country. Warren graduated from Concordia with a 4.0 in biology. He was the only athlete selected from the NSIC.
