Spring Game Saturday at 1:00; 2008 Schedule Released

The 2008 football season unofficially starts on Saturday, April 26 with the Spring Game set for 1:00 at Griffin Stadium. The offense will compete against the defense in a special scoring game. The official season will begin for the Golden Bears on August 30 when they will host Minnesota Duluth at Griffin Stadium at 6:00 p.m. at Griffin Stadium.

Former Golden Bear Ya'Tarrie Brown a Pro-Football Standout

Former Concordia University all-NSIC offensive lineman Ya'Tarrie Brown ('05), will enter his third year in the United Indoor Football league (UIF), re-signing with the Sioux Falls Storm to play with the team for a second season.

Golden Bears Announce 2008 Recruiting Class

Concordia University head football coach Mark Mauer has announced that 31 players have committed to the Golden Bears for the 2008 season, signing National Letters of Intent. The 32 players are highlighted by 23 from Minnesota, four from Illinois, three from Wisconsin and one from Iowa and North Dakota.

Concordia Rolls Past Minnesota, Crookston

Kole Goodchild (Sr., QB, West Bend, Iowa) is leaving Concordia-St. Paul with his name firmly cemented in the CU record books.
He threw four touchdown passes and set a school record to lead the Golden Bears (4-7, 3-6 NSIC) past Minnesota, Crookston (2-8, 1-8 NSIC) 48-0 in the NSIC Metrodome Classic.

Goodchild Earns Academic All-District Honors

While he is rewriting the Concordia University record books on the field, senior quarterback Kole Goodchild (West Bend, Iowa) is also keeping busy acing his assignments off the field as he was named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team as voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Bears to Finish Season at Metrodome Classic Friday, Nov. 9, Free Fan Bus Available at 3:15

The Concordia football team will wrap up the 2007 season on Friday, Nov. 9th at 4:00 in the NSIC Metrodome Classic. All tickets are General Admission and are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children over five. The Concordia athletic department will have a FREE shuttle to the game, leaving from the Fandrei Center at 3:15. Tickets will be sold all day at Gates H and F.

Beavers Roll Past Concordia 47-21 in Bemidji

Bemidji State (5-4, 4-3 NSIC) cruise to a 47-21 win over Concordia (3-7, 2-6 NSIC) despite a pair of touchdowns by Tyrone Ruffin and nearly 300 yards of offense by Kole Goodchild.
