2009 Music Theatre Camp --- CANCELED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT
- For students currently in grades 6 - 12.
|
- Training in all aspects of musical theatre, including acting, dance and movement, vocal technique - plus professional seminars in auditioning and performance.
|
- There are no auditions, nor are there requirements for students attending the camp (other than wanting to have a good time and being prepared to work hard!)
|
- Students attend classes in the morning and during the afternoon and in the evening work on the performance that they will present to family and friends on the last day.
|
- Participation fee for the residential option is $695. This price includes accommodations for five days and nights, all meals, all classes and seminars, and a ticket to a professional theatre production.
- Participation fee for the day-camp option is $495. This price includes lunches and dinners, all classes and seminars, and a ticket to a professional theatre production.
- $50 discount for referring a friend who has not attended previously
- Note: With the exception of the last day (Friday), the camp runs into the evening hours for all campers. (Until approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; until approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The hour long performance on Friday begins at 3:00 p.m. The camp ends with this performance.
- Registrations received by the deadline of May 1 will be entered in a drawing for an iPod touch.
- Registrations received after May 1 will be accepted on a space available basis.

- To register, complete and return the registration form and enclose a $150 (non-refundable) deposit for each student planning to attend the camp. The balance is due June 5, 2009. In the event of cancellation by Concordia, your deposit will be refunded after June 8, 2009.

The camp's professional staff includes some of the area's most experienced artists (subject to change): David Mennicke: Camp Director. Chair of Concordia University, St. Paul Department of Music. Jay Albright: Music Director. Actor and composer with many theatre companies including the Guthrie Theater and the Ordway. Jan Puffer: Dance Instructor. Choreographer, teacher, and actress. Adjunct Faculty Concordia University, St. Paul Department of Theatre; Guthrie Theater Teaching Artist; 2008 City Pages: Best of the Twin Cities award for "Best Tap Dance Class." Mark Rosenwinkel: Acting Instructor/Director. Award-winning playwright and a member of the professional acting company at the Guthrie Theater. Concordia University, St. Paul Department of Theatre visiting professor.
