President Holst Honored by Council of Black Minnesotans

President HolstAt the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration on Monday, Jan. 17, the Council of Black Minnesotans presented Concordia University, St. Paul President Robert Holst with an award of Recognition and Appreciation for his distinguished leadership, service and commitment to students in need, enabling them to live out their dreams. He was also honored for his 17 year support for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Statewide Celebration held in Concordia's Gangelhoff Center. The annual event, organized by the Governor's Commission on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, includes a rally at Central High school and a march to Concordia where a program and education fair is held in the Gangelhoff Center.

"I'm humbled to receive this honor," Holst said. "The Council of Black Minnesotans not only help us celebrate the legacy of Dr. King but also provide exemplary civic leadership in a variety of other ways."
