Concordia's Science Research Institute Awarded 45K Grant

The Science Research Institute, a partnership between Concordia University, St. Paul and Northwestern College, has received a two-year, $45,000 grant from Medtronic Foundation to help continue engaging high school students in the sciences. This unique program brings together high school students, college students, high school faculty and college faculty to encourage and better equip students to pursue careers in the sciences, especially in STEM fields.

SRI is geared towards juniors and seniors in high school with preference given to students who attend urban schools. Concordia and Northwestern undergraduates serve as mentors in the year-long program that is co-directed by CSP's Dr. Shellie Kieke and Northwestern's Dr. Joanna Klein
