Congressman Keith Ellison Speaks With Concordia Students

Campus Visit Part of Concordia's Professor of the Day Program

Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison spoke to students at Concordia University Dec. 17, as part of its “Professor of the Day” program, which recognizes officials who show outstanding public service, personal dedication to students and higher education, and innovative measures to improve Minnesota and the Midwest.

Ellison, who served as a guest professor in an American Government class, also met with student leaders and received a plaque commemorating his visit from Concordia University President Tom Ries. Some of the topics Ellison discussed with the class were economics, minimum wage and health care.

Ellison has represented the Fifth Congressional District of Minnesota in the U. S. House of Representatives since taking office in January 2007. The Fifth District includes the city of Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs.
