Concordia University, St. Paul to cancel morning classes on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 due to extreme weather; classes resume Tuesday at noon.
Concordia University, St. Paul will cancel all morning face-to-face classes and use alternative delivery methods where possible due to extreme weather conditions. Face to face classes scheduled to begin after 12 p.m. will occur as regularly scheduled.
The university will open at regular business hours to support our on campus student living and learning needs. A sustained wind chill advisory is in effect until noon and temperatures are expected to be well below zero.
Faculty members with morning classes should be in touch with students about alternative academic engagement using campus tools such as Blackboard Learning Management System or WebEx Class Sessions.
The decision to cancel morning classes but keep campus open for business was made with careful consideration. Some employees may choose to take personal time off on Tuesday, January 28, due to travel issues, childcare needs, and other circumstances. As a result, some campus services and departments may have limited staffing and operations. We ask that managers and supervisors accommodate employee requests for schedule flexibility on short notice, as they are able and as workloads permit.
The safety of our employees and students is our top priority, so we encourage you to plan for your safety in traveling to or from campus. As always, faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to register for E2Campus, the campus emergency communication tool, in order to receive urgent campus communications via text messages.
