Concordia University, St. Paul senior defensive end Zach Moore (Chicago) is one of nine NCAA Division II prospects invited to participate in the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine held in Indianapolis from Saturday, Feb. 22 to Tuesday, Feb. 25. Coverage of the combine is on NFL Network each day beginning at 8 a.m.
Moore will workout with the defensive linemen and linebackers on Monday, Feb. 24.
Moore is the first known Concordia football player to be invited to the official NFL Scouting Combine, and as one of nine Division II NFL hopefuls is ranked as the No. 2 small college prospect by Peter Schrager of FOX Sports (article linked here).
This year, Moore had 7.0 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss while batting down three passes with two fumbles forced, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick. He was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Division II Defensive Player of the Year award and a nominee for the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year award. Entering the 2013 campaign, Moore was ranked as the #5 overall Division II fooball player by D2Football.com and was on the East-West Shrine Game roster.
He’s a two-time NSIC sack champion and finished in the NCAA top-10 in sacks twice in his four years. His 33.0 career sacks set a Concordia program record and are ninth in Division II football history.
Entering the year, he was ranked as the #5 overall Division II football player by Josh Buchanan of D2Football.com. Buchanan is also a small college NFL scout.
