Xcel has restored power to campus and operations is working to bring the boiler back to restore heat to the affected areas. We anticipate the boiler restoration process taking 4 – 6 hours.

As of 12 p.m., we are still waiting on Xcel to respond to our current power outage. We will update our status as soon as we receive more information from Xcel.
Residental Life will be in direct communication with students living on campus in regards to further status and facility updates.
UPDATE (as of 10 a.m.) Campus Heat and Power Status
As of 10 a.m., February 21, 2014 Concordia University, St. Paul continues to work with Xcel Energy to restore full power and heat service to campus. The main campus corridor from the Concordia Art Center to the Winget Student Life Center have limited power and no heat due to an Xcel Energy transformer failure. Buildings fed by the central heating plant are without heat, but have power (LMC, LTC, Music, Theatre, and Science Buildings).
Chapel will continue as scheduled at 10:30 a.m. in the Black Box Theatre for anyone who is on campus and wishes to attend. Throughout the day, the Cross of Christ Fellowship Center and Holst Hall are open with warm drinks and snacks for those looking for somewhere warm. The Dining Hall in the Winget is open with modified food service with regular hours. Student Life is working with the residents of Luther Hall to determine options for them as the outages continue; in the meantime residents are encouraged to visit the Holst Hall lobby or the Cross of Christ Fellowship Center.
The Lutheran Grade School Tournament scheduled for the Gangelhoff Center will go on as scheduled as the facility has not been affected by the power outage.

Due to a significant power outage impacting Concordia's campus, all face-to-face classes on The latest winter storm has made if necessary for all face-to-face classes at Concordia University, St. Paul scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2014 to move to alternative delivery methods. The storm along with a partial power outage on the campus are the primary reasons for this decision. Xcel Energy has not given the university a timeframe for when power will be restored.
Faculty members should be in contact with students about alternative academic engagement using campus tools such as Blackboard Learning Management System and/or WebEx class sessions.
Only critical staff (maintenance, security, and custodial) should report to work as they are able.
