LINC-Twin Cities Calls Church Planter
LINC-TC has approved the calling of their first church planting pastor, Rev. Jeffrey Cloeter, to develop innovative outreach models as they seek to reach young adults. LINC-TC is committed to the urban setting. With so many young adults moving back into the city, the Church needs to reach this critical people group. LINC-TC is providing the leadership on this plant and has an exceptional team, including the Oswald Hoffmann School of Christian Outreach, The Alley Church, and St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington.
Dr. Mark Press (OHSCO) shared how their interests include developing full-time church leaders in outreach, keeping the mission of God a “front burner” campus issue, and their belief that the church needs to find ways to reach the next generation. Students have special gifts to offer to this effort and special opportunities to learn. Rev. Ben Griffin (The Alley) shared their support to provide whatever resources (musicians, leaders, etc.) to help this new plant reach the Midway area of St. Paul. St. Michael’s Lutheran is providing financial and people resources.
Rev. Jeffrey Cloeter did his undergraduate work at Concordia St. Paul and received his Masters of Divinity in May 2005 from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He is a 6th generation pastor and is married to Bobbi from Wausau, WI. Bobbi teaches 8th grade science at an inner-city school. They have two children: Isabella, a 4-yearold girl, and Joshua, a 1 ½-year-old boy. Pastor Cloeter has been an Assistant/Associate Pastor at Christ Memorial LC (St. Louis) since 2005. He planted a church called Reliant in the Central West End (St. Louis) fall 2007 (www.reliantchurch.org). He is a spiritually deep, calm, steady, outfront leader and has overall strength in introspective teaching and preaching. He has mentored several seminary fieldworkers.
Please keep this call, Pastor Jeff Cloeter and his family in your prayers as they seek God’s will in their lives. They will be visiting the Twin Cities May 26th and 27th.
