Workshop on Missional Leadership
OHSCO and the Master of Arts in Christian Outreach program at Concordia University – St. Paul will be offering a Workshop on Missional Leadership, July 23-25, 2009. This three day workshop is for all those who have a passion for sharing the Gospel and reaching out cross-culturally.
The workshop will focus on knowing and sharing the mission of God and the formation of spiritual leadership within the lives of Christ’s disciples.
If you need encouragement from the Word or personal skills in being able to witness or to serve as mission and outreach-oriented leaders in your congregation, this workshop is for you.
The workshop leaders are Rev. Jerry Kosberg, District Executive LCMS, who will be discussing Spiritual Leadership Formation and Spiritual Warfare and Rev. Dr. Robert Newton, District President LCMS,who will be covering the mission of God.
These two dynamic pastors and mission leaders in the LCMS also teach in the Master of Arts in Christian Outreach program and will also facilitate discussion forum. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the Master’s program at no cost - see ‘Option to Explore’ below for more information.
The impact of their leadership and teaching has been quite evident for all students in the MACO program and to those who have heard them speak. Each participant will leave with a greater insight and practical application of God’s Mission. In addition, each person will create a strategic outreach plan to be implemented upon return to their home setting.
The workshop will be held on the campus of Concordia University – St. Paul. Each participant will enjoy presentations by the leaders; round table discussions, cohort conversations and teaching on living each day as an Outreach Leader.
OHSCO has included in the workshop a real-life cross cultural experience entitled “Urban Plunge.” This international experience has enhanced the learning and cross-cultural awareness of previous participants from around the globe. As one missionary leader stated “This [Urban Plunge] was one of the most fun and eye-opening events I have attended.”
Cost for the Workshop on Missional Leadership is $200 and includes all materials and meals for all three days. You can stay on campus for an additional $40 for the 1st night and $30 for the remaining nights. Each room is similar to an apartment setting with 2-4 separate and private bedrooms.
